Hey everyone!

In the last few days, I finished a few books and watched a couple of films. Here are my reviews of some of them. Enjoy!


The Maze Runner Series (The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure) 
by James Dashner:

Thomas lands in a new world with no memory at all of his past life. He can only remember his first name. He is welcomed in his new home, the Glade, which is surrounded by a ginormous maze, by a bunch of teenage boys with the same memory loss. Even though Thomas is scared and confused, he has to pull himself together to solve the mystery of the maze, and save himself and his new found friends from certain death.
Ok, I am part of a new fandom. I loved these books, they reminded me of the Hunger Games Trilogy, all the Percy Jackson books, Harry Potter, the Divergent series etc. Teenage Fantasy at it's best, Dashner has the fandom hooked. So yeah, I loved it. The end... well, no spoilers, but I think he could have made it a bit better. Some of the decisions he made with the character and the relationships between them, I thought were a bit, well... unnecessary maybe? See for yourself. I still definetely recommend it.
There are films for the first two books, but I haven't seen them. Planning on though, because I looove the actors (I mean, Thomas Sangster and Dylan O'brien? Yes please!)


Inside Out:

Ever wondered what's going on in someones head? Well, wonder no more! May I present: Riley, an eleven year old girl, who has a lot going on at the moment. With moving to a new city, losing her best friend and problems at home, Rileys emotions are running high. Theses emotions (Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust) are trying to keep on top of things as well as dealing with internal problems.
This film is a lot more emotional (pun not intended) than I expected and I was not prepared. Really cute storyline, great voiceover people. I laughed, I cried and I loved it. Also, the cutest thing was that the film was dedicated to all the children of the producers with the line: "Please don't grow up. Ever." Tear jerker.


Running Girl
by Simon Mason:

Garvie Smith is a teenager with a genius mind, but finds the world too boring to use it. When a girl in his year is found dead in the nearby lake, he is suddenly hooked on finding the murderer. But Di Singh is having none of that, because the ambitious and uptight police detective is sure he will figure out the answer to this case pretty quickly.
I was very intrigued by this book. It started out great, I love spy and detective books. I was not let down. I was guessing all the way through and enjoyed it thoroughly. I finished it relatively quickly and had high (maybe too high) hopes for the ending. Well, and the ending was slightly depressing, but it did fit into the scheme of the book. I really loved the main character, because I find his amazing intelligence very impressive.


Back To The Future:

When Marty McFly gets accidentally transported 30 years into the past, he gets quite a shock! Because messing with the past can be very dangerous, he has to get back to his own time as quickly as possible. But things start to get mixed up, and Marty is starts endangering his families and his own existence.
As you may or may not know, on October 22 at 20:15 Marty McFly landed in the future. That is, at least in the film "Back To The Future Part 2". As that was a few days ago, and every social media website was positively stuffed with references, I decided to watch the first of the three films. It was made in 1985, so not a new film, but although the quality was of course not great, I heartily enjoyed it. It was heart-warming and hilarious, as McFly, who travels back in time, thinks he is so up to date, while we can just smile at his puffer jacket and "cool" hairstyle. Of course, the film to watch right now is the second film, but I'm definitely going to watch that as soon as possible. Great film!
